5th grade students are keeping computer folders with a Powerpoint presentation of this's best work. At the
end of the year, they will be able to burn their folder on a CD and take it home to show their family. They also
use the Type to Learn program to practice their keyboarding skills.
4th grade is making Powerpoint presentations about themselves, practicing their math skills with some crusty cowboys
in Wild West Math, and exploring electricity on the web.

3rd grade has been practicing their typing skills, then using that practice to become familiar with Microsoft
Word. Soon they will be able to create documents with ease!
2nd grade is working on Powerpoint presentations about themselves in Mr. Telstad's class. The rest of the 2nd
graders are learning to make the transition from Type to Learn, Jr. to "grown-up" keyboarding skills. They have been
working on keeping their right hand on the right side of the keyboard and their left hand on the left side for the past two
years. Now they are working very hard to learn which fingers goes with which keys. They are doing great!

K-1st Grade:
Kindergarten is learning how to use the Investigations program and create geometric patterns on their screen workspaces.
They will also learn to use the Type to Learn, Jr. program and start to use their right hands for the right side of the keyboard,
and their left hands for the left side of the keyboard. Paint is another favorite.
1st grade continues to learn these programs, and as they learn to read and spell, we use Paint to draw and label science
lessons from their home rooms. Around January, many 1st graders are ready to begin taking Accelerated Reader tests on
books they have learned to read!
